Overview

Univision Television Group, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a full-time Digital Content Manager to lead the digitization of one of the local television stations to attract new audiences to Univision's website and social media. This includes creating a strategy for weather forecasters’ content to appear in different formats and narratives for digital platforms. The role involves creating and leading digital content strategies for the designated market, including integration of AI, SMS, social media, multi-platform content management and technical interfaces. The position aims to shift the newsroom culture toward digital thinking, empowering reporters, assignment desk, camerapersons and producers to generate engaging, timely content that expands the digital footprint, audience and market share. The Digital Content Manager influences newsroom decision making to ensure content is optimally produced and distributed across digital platforms. Demonstrated results should show innovative and creative approaches to build audience loyalty. The role requires knowledge of Google Analytics, Chartbeat and various data dashboards, with the ability to interpret performance data to guide content development. The incumbent will identify trends in the digital landscape, adapt and create content for promotions on social media, and plan coverage for digital platforms (website, newsletters, and social media) based on the news of the day. The person will communicate online trends to the newsroom, copy/edit with journalistic and legal fundamentals, position content for SEO, engage with the audience through social conversations, and experiment with new formats and networks. A digital content calendar with priority events, initiatives and opportunities should be maintained. Responsibilities also include writing and editing articles and headlines, managing social media accounts, writing video metadata, and managing YouTube pages. The role leads audience growth efforts from planning to execution and works closely with the News Director, VP Local Digital News, and other staff to create, optimize, distribute and promote Univision's content across linear and non-linear platforms, while upholding ethical and journalistic practices. Responsibilities

Lead the digitization efforts for the designated market and develop digital content strategies across AI, SMS, social media, and multi-platform content management. Drive a compartment shift within the newsroom to prioritize digital-first thinking among reporters, assignment desk, cameramen, and producers. Influence TV newsroom decision making to ensure content is optimally produced and distributed across digital platforms. Demonstrate innovative approaches to build audience loyalty; apply analytics (Google Analytics, Chartbeat, dashboards) to inform content development and performance decisions. Identify main digital trends and adapt content for various promotions on social media; plan coverage for website, newsletters, and social channels. Identify news of the day and plan appropriate coverage for different digital platforms; communicate online trends to the newsroom. Copy and edit content with fundamental journalistic and legal knowledge; position content for SEO; engage with audiences and social conversations. Experiment with new formats and social networks; maintain a digital content calendar with priorities, events, initiatives, and opportunities. Write and edit articles and headlines; manage social media accounts; write metadata for video clips; manage YouTube pages. Lead identification of audience growth opportunities and execute growth strategies from planning through implementation. Collaborate with the News Director, VP Local Digital News, and other staff to create, optimize, distribute and promote Univision's linear and non-linear content; ensure ethical and journalistic practices across the market's content. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism or related field, plus 3 years of experience in the occupation or as a digital content producer or digital content manager. Must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish. Must have experience publishing online content and creating social media content. Proficient with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut and Photoshop.
