About The Role DoorDash is hiring an exceptional and experienced Senior Counsel, Ads & Promotions to join our legal team. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and sales teams that support everything related to our advertising and promotions products. This business operates at the intersection of e‑commerce and advertising, surfacing and monetizing relevant content that benefits our core audiences. The role will provide all aspects of legal support, including product, commercial work, and partnering with the business on operational and strategic risks. You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will… Advise global product and engineering teams on digital advertising, data use, regulatory and privacy matters from ideation through launch and beyond, providing pragmatic and strategic advice. Draft, review and negotiate complex strategic product partnerships and collaborations critical to DoorDash’s growth. Translate legal frameworks into simple, actionable guidance, empowering teams to innovate confidently. Partner with cross‑functional teams to provide legal and general risk guidance for data, digital advertising, and promotions products. Anticipate and navigate emerging global legal risks, helping the business move fast while protecting user trust and company values. Stay at the forefront of global legal and industry trends, keeping DoorDash ahead of the curve and shaping conversations across the company. Build deep, collaborative relationships as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions and transforming how DoorDash connects ideas with audiences worldwide. We’re Excited About You Because… At least 8+ years of experience in a demanding, innovative legal environment on digital advertising, privacy, technology, or related commercial work. Proven ability to build lasting collaborative relationships across product and business teams. Quick to pick up new laws and technologies, bringing curiosity and adaptability to every challenge. Experience in the legal issues impacting retail media networks, advertising, marketing, promotions, digital media, technology, and related matters. Skilled at translating complicated legal issues into plain‑language guidance that empowers teams to move forward. Experience providing product/regulatory counsel in the ads space. Strong business acumen. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. JD and admission to one state bar. Bonus Points Prior in‑house experience product counseling. Experience in retail media networks. Experience handling global matters across various regions. Experience in the tech industry. Compensation Base salary is localized according to work location, ranging from $214,200 to $315,000 USD for the United States, including Illinois and Colorado. Additional compensation includes equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package: 401(k) with matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off, paid sick leave, medical, dental, vision, 11 paid holidays, disability and life insurance, family‑forming assistance, mental health program, and more. Paid Time Off For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year. For hourly roles: vacation and paid sick time accrue based on hours worked (details available on the careers page).
