Candidates must be local to Los Angeles or willing to relocate. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Fashion Technical Designer with a strong background in fitted, structured dresses and body-contouring garments . This role requires deep expertise in garment construction, internal support systems, and architectural shaping. You will work closely with Design and Production to ensure the accurate execution of intricate styles from development through production. Due to the complexity of our product, this role is best suited for a seasoned technical designer who can work independently with minimal training. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with Design and Production teams to ensure accurate execution of all designs Manage all technical requirements from product development through production Spec incoming samples and prepare for weekly fittings Conduct fittings on live models; record and translate fit notes into clear, actionable comments Communicate fit and construction revisions to domestic and overseas vendors, including illustrated sketches Execute production specs and grading Relay all critical information impacting in-house dates to relevant teams Assemble detailed tech packs using PLM software Ensure garments meet quality standards and align with brand aesthetic Apply advanced knowledge of product engineering, garment construction, and internal structure for intricate styles Demonstrate strong knowledge of fabric technology for knits, wovens, and bias-cut garments Proactively identify issues with vendors/factories and recommend viable solutions Specialized Experience Required Fitted, structured dresses and body-contouring silhouettes Defined architectural shapes achieved through tailoring and internal construction Built-in support systems using shaping elements to maintain form Boning and corsetry construction Internal lining, mesh panels, and power mesh for gentle compression without discomfort Requirements 5+ years of experience in women’s apparel technical design (structured dresses strongly preferred) B.A./B.S. in Technical Design or related field Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Outlook, CAD Experience with WFX / PLM systems (strong plus) Ability to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines Highly detail-oriented with strong communication and follow-through Well-organized with a strong sense of urgency Professional, collaborative, and solutions-oriented Why Join JLUXLABEL?
