Job Description
Rhombus Power seeks a highly motivated UI/UX Designer to join our fast-growing team, delivering complex enterprise solutions.
We’re looking for colleagues that are intrinsically motivated to create polished user interfaces and interactions, positive experiences, and have a growth mindset. We want someone who’s looking to figure out that ‘Ok, but what’s next?’ portion of a problem, anticipating and proactively responding to the entirety of the UI/UX process.
You’re motivated to understand user needs and behaviors and use that to drive product design and identify areas for improvement. You’ll be creating, reviewing, and iterating on wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect designs and helping build out our design system!
You can expect to work with customer stakeholders, product, engineering, and leadership teams on existing, and future products that are changing the way US policy decisions are being made. The position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Government Security clearance.
What You’ll Do
Own it. Reporting to our CTO, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end ownership and will be directly responsible to architect, build, and iterate on user-facing features across Rhombus’ flagship platforms, supporting both domestic and international clients.
Design it. We’re relying on you to quickly and seamlessly translate complex workflows into clear, beautiful, and functional interfaces that drive decisions at the highest levels.
Drive it, and fast. Partner with designers, executive team, UI team, data teams, engineering teams, product analysts, and backend engineers to refine prototypes, define APIs, and ship impactful product experiences quickly and iteratively.
Evolve it. Lead by action, and thereby drive the evolution of our design systems to ensure scalable, accessible, and visually consistent UIs across Rhombus products.
Fix it. Proactively identify UX/UI gaps and propose improvements to elevate the end-to-end product experience. Champion UI/UX best practices in code, process, and product development.
Explore it: Create and maintain robust documentation for design specifications, components, and reusable patterns.
Secure it: Build with a bias for security, usability, and performance in equal measure.
Who You Are
A systems-minded designer: You bring a deep understanding of systems engineering and how humans interact with complex platforms. Whether from a top-tier design consultancy or product-led tech company, you’ve designed elegant interfaces at scale—balancing technical depth with intuitive user experience.
A hybrid technologist and creative: You can take a Figma prototype and translate it into pixel-perfect, performant code - but you also know when to iterate on the design itself.
A player-coach: You lead with initiative, are hands-on with delivery, and elevate your team with clear feedback and high standards. You don’t shirk debugging - you welcome it, and drive your team to improve.
A mission-driven builder: You care deeply about impact. You understand that good design in the national security space is not just about aesthetics - it’s about clarity, speed, and trust.
A collaborator: You thrive working cross-functionally with engineering, product, leadership, and customers. You bring ideas to the table and help others sharpen theirs.
