Seasonal Laborer - Golf Course Maintenance (temporary position up to 6 months)
POSITION
Seasonal Laborer - Golf Course Maintenance (temporary position up to 6 months).
DUTIES This position assists golf maintenance crews in their day-to-day operations, including, but not limited to: operating turf equipment, including out-front mowers, tractors with 16’ mowers, push mowers, utility vehicles, weed trimmers, sod cutters; cleaning restrooms, picking up trash, and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Applicant must be 16 years of age or older and able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Must have a current and valid Iowa driver’s license and good driving record based on the City of Waterloo’s driver performance criteria. Individual must submit to pre-employment, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug testing. Failure to pass the pre-employment drug test will result in the withdrawal of the employment offer. Failure to pass alcohol or drug testing after employment begins will result in immediate termination. Applicant must provide and wear steel‑toed shoes and long pants while working.
QUALIFICATIONS Prefer experience in turf equipment operations.
WAGE Up to $20.50 per hour based on qualifications. Time and one‑half after 40 hours in the specified workweek. No insurance or benefits.
START DATE Varies – April 2026 through October 2026
HOURS 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, one‑half hour unpaid lunch. Minimal overtime.
