The
Brand Strategy & Growth Manager
serves as the architect of the league’s brand identity and digital presence. This role blends high-level brand strategy with hands-on content creation; driving the league’s storytelling, social media growth, player-focused narratives, and partnership-facing creative.
Job Duties
Brand Strategy & Identity
Develop and execute a comprehensive year-round brand strategy.
Strengthen the Appalachian League’s identity as a premier developmental league.
Create growth-oriented KPIs across digital channels.
Content Creation & Storytelling
Produce content highlighting:
Current players and league storylines
Alumni advancing through MiLB and MLB
League culture, achievements, and milestones
Create multimedia assets including videos, graphics, social content, and editorial features.
Manage the team of content interns:
Recruiting, hiring and training content interns
Provide creative direction and clear workflow management
Oversee on-site gameday and behind-the-scenes content capture
Social Media Management
Manage all official Appalachian League social channels.
Build platform-specific growth strategies across all social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and Facebook.
Identify emerging content trends and leverage new formats.
Sponsorship & Partnership Support
Create branded content, pitch assets, and presentations for league partners.
Support sponsorship initiatives by creating strategic digital assets with visually compelling storytelling opportunities for prospective partnering brands.
Oversee the execution and fulfilment of all sponsored elements ensuring expected value and enhancing brand alignment.
Cross-League Collaboration
Serve as a resource for content, branding and storytelling for league teams
Aligning creative and brand standards of the league for all partnering teams.
Providing insights and recommendations to partnering teams that encourage consistent channel quality, activity and growth.
Creating and organizing a content database for teams to use in elevating their brand and for the league to easily access and produce content for alumni in the future.
Success Metrics
Clear and effective Appalachian League brand strategy.
Significant digital growth across all channels.
Enhanced reputation among college coaches and MLB personnel.
High-quality alumni and player development storytelling.
Strong performance and development of a seasonal intern team.
Visually strong sponsorship assets contributing to partnership success.
Qualifications And Requirements
3–5+ years in brand strategy, content creation & management, social media, or sports marketing.
Demonstrated success in digital audience growth and multi-platform content execution.
Creative proficiency in video editing, graphic design, and multimedia production.
Strong copywriting and storytelling ability.
Leadership experience with interns or creative teams.
Deep understanding of social media trends and platform algorithms.
Ability to travel throughout the season.
Onsite work flexibility.
