Overview JOB TITLE: Graphics and Web Designer REPORTS TO: Communications Director HOURS/WEEK: Full Time/40 hours per week FSLA DESIGNATION: Exempt STAFF CATEGORY: Worship Arts Summary The Graphics and Web Designer champions the overall written and visual presentation of the church as described by the Lead Pastor and Elders. This position will coordinate internal communication with the staff on the calendar, events, and projects needed to further the vision of the church. This position will create visual concepts by hand or computer software to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate audiences. Key Responsibilities Brand Management: Manage and evolve the overall brand of Illuminate according to the vision of the Communications Director and Lead Pastor, including colors, design direction, fonts, etc. Ensure that all publications, whether printed or electronic, align with the vision and mission of Illuminate. Keeps up with modern trends and design aesthetics. Social Media: Collaborate with Content Creator to evolve and maintain the aesthetic of Illuminate’s various social media platforms. Printed Media: Create and produce promotional materials utilizing Microsoft Office and Adobe Products. Graphics Design: Develop graphics for use across multiple platforms (example: web, print, email and weekend production assets). Collaborate with the communications team on strategies to reach a particular audience or execute a project. Design and concept creative ideas for churchwide event promotion, including selection of colors, images, text style, and layout appropriate to the project scope. Meet with the ministry leaders as needed to determine the design scope of any given project. Develop pitches and mood boards for refinement of concepts. Work with the communications team to pitch and refine concepts in consideration of ministry leader feedback. Proof designs and copy for errors and inconsistency. Website/App Management: Design and maintain our websites look and feel, ensuring proper scaling across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Manage daily website updates. Maintain and continually optimize site navigation and page structure. Work with communications team to update our mobile app and keep consistent with website updates. (Subsplash) Qualifications Computer literacy with knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, etc.). Adobe Suite and Wordpress REQUIRED. Experience with Subsplash, Elementor, Monday.com, Mailchimp, Media Asset Management software such as Iconik, a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic; team player; ability to learn fast and execute quickly. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as a team to meet deadlines. Ability to multi-task efficiently. Experience producing materials across various print formats including standard paper and glossy finishes, bindings, etc. Help create a culture of development at Illuminate by recruiting, training, placing, supporting, and monitoring volunteers who can successfully duplicate your role and responsibilities.
