Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is a senior leader responsible for shaping and executing Lee Construction Group’s financial strategy. This role oversees all financial planning, budgeting, accounting, risk management, compliance, and reporting functions while serving as a key advisor to the CEO and Leadership Team. The Director of Finance ensures long‑term fiscal stability, supports sustainable growth, and leads a high‑performing accounting team. This is an in‑person position.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Planning

Develop and execute financial strategies that support company growth, profitability, and investment decisions.

Lead annual budgeting, multi‑year forecasting, and financial modeling processes.

Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership based on financial analysis and market trends.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month‑end close.

Ensure compliance with GAAP (and relevant state/federal regulations).

Manage tax planning, filings, annual audits, and external financial relationships.

Performance & Operational Analysis

Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Analyze trends, variances, and operational drivers to provide actionable insights.

Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial efficiency.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

Manage cash flow, liquidity, credit lines, and treasury activities.

Ensure adequate capitalization for operational and project‑based needs.

Maintain strong relationships with lenders and financial institutions.

Risk Management & Controls

Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.

Oversee insurance programs and risk transfer strategies.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

Establish performance standards, training pathways, and professional development practices.

Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Communication

Present financial performance, forecasts, and strategic insights to the CEO, Company Presidents, and external partners.

Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, accessible way for non‑financial stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MSF) or a professional designation such as

CPA

or

CMA .

Experience

10+ years of progressive financial management experience.

Proven track record in senior leadership, preferably within construction, manufacturing, or project‑driven industries.

Technical & Leadership Skills

Expert knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software.

Advanced analytical and modeling capabilities.

Strong strategic thinking, communication, and team leadership skills.

Ability to operate at both the tactical and executive levels.
