Senior Landscape Designer

About the Role The Landscape Designer is responsible for developing landscape plans for new garden installations and working directly with clients throughout the design process.
You will meet with clients, analyze site conditions, create design plans, coordinate plant orders and deliveries and pickups with local nurseries and the operations manager, and collaborate with the project manager and installation team to ensure successful project implementation.
Typical Work Includes
Client consultations and design meetings.
Site analysis and measuring existing landscapes.
Creating landscape concept plans and detailed designs.
Revising plans based on client feedback.
Ordering plants and coordinating nursery procurement.
Scheduling plant deliveries or pickups.
Assisting with plant layout during installations.
Coordinating with project managers and installation crews.
Supporting clients to ensure clear expectations and satisfaction.
The Right Person For This Role
10+ years experience in landscape design with a focus on PNW ecology & horticulture.
Strong horticultural knowledge and plant identification skills.
Comfortable meeting with clients and presenting design ideas.
Organized and capable of managing multiple projects.
Interested in ecological landscaping and habitat restoration.
Detail-oriented and takes pride in quality work.
Collaborative and dependable.
Experienced with landscape design software (SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, others).
Job Requirements
Ability to learn and use landscape design software.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
English fluency.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently.
Must be alert and sober during work.
Job Responsibilities
Attend site analysis visits and consultations with design clients.
Create landscape design plans for residential projects.
Follow the Rutheo Designs design process for each client project.
Coordinate plant orders, deliveries, and pickups from local nurseries.
Work with the Project Manager and installation crew to ensure smooth installations.
Respond to client inquiries related to design work.
Maintain professionalism and clear communication with clients and staff.
Wear a work uniform during all client meetings and when on job sites (company polo shirt tucked in, long pants & closed-toe shoes).
Position Details Pay: $30-40/hour depending on experience.
Schedule
40 hours per week.
5-day work week (Monday–Friday).
8-hour days
Benefits
40 hours PTO annually to start.
Sick leave accrual: 1 hour per 40 hours worked.
50% company health insurance coverage available.
