Facilities Director Borough Family Branch YMCA Are you someone who takes pride in keeping spaces safe, clean, and running smoothly? The Borough Family Branch YMCA is looking for a Facilities Director who will help create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for our members, staff, and families.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys both managing people and rolling up their sleeves to keep a busy facility operating at its best.

What You’ll Do: Lead Facility Operations
Oversee all facility maintenance, custodial services, and preventive maintenance programs
Ensure repairs and facility projects are completed efficiently and to high standards
Manage contractors and vendors working in the building and on YMCA grounds
Supervise and Develop Staff
Recruit, hire, schedule, and lead facilities staff
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
Build a strong team culture focused on safety, service, and accountability
Ensure Safety and Compliance
Maintain the highest safety standards for staff and members
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all local, state, and federal regulations
Work with fire, health, and building departments as needed
Oversee Pool and Equipment Operations
Ensure proper operation and safety of pool systems, including chemical and filtration management
Maintain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
Ensure YMCA vehicles and equipment are maintained and used properly
Manage Grounds and Supplies
Oversee lawn care, snow removal, and ice control
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment parts
Support Branch Operations
Conduct weekly facility inspections and prioritize maintenance needsManage facility‑related expenses responsibly within the branch budget
Collaborate with other YMCA branches when needed
Participate in branch and association meetings
What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a hands‑on facilities professional and effective team leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in maintaining safe, welcoming spaces. Preferred qualifications include:
Three or more years of facilities management experience or related building operations experience
Supervisory or leadership experience
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills
Ability to respond to facility issues and emergencies as needed
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, or willingness to obtain
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or a related field, or a minimum of three years of facilities management experience or a closely related discipline. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices required, along with strong project management skills. Must obtain CPO certification within 120 days of employment and CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days. A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets YMCA standards are required. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse social and economic backgrounds.

Full‑Time (Exempt)
SCHEDULE:
Monday‑Friday with weekend availability as needed
PAY:
$60,000-$62,000/year with a 10% Geographical Differential. Plus, a full benefit package to include generous PTO, access to facilities for immediate family members, Medical, Dental, Disability, Life, Vision, EAP, & Pet Insurance, and ability to participate 403B Retirement Savings Plan. Also, once fully vested, the YMCA will contribute 12% directly to your retirement account, helping you build long‑term financial security while you build a meaningful career serving the community.
