Communication Designer to join our HR Communications team. The Capital One HR Communications team is responsible for HR's communications strategy and execution. Role Expectations As a Communication Designer, you’ll combine your craft expertise with an understanding of our customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems. Here are some of the expected competencies for this role: Communication Design Expertise: Leverage deep expertise in communication strategy and design—using skills across UX and visual design, messaging and multi-channel strategy. Elevate the quality and maturity of the communications practice at Capital One through collaboration with cross-functional partners, utilizing appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems working with teams to create artifacts that may include journey maps, high-fidelity designs and prototypes, creative concepts, story boards, graphic elements, illustrations, animations and videos, as well as finished communications materials in multiple channels. Human-Centered: Champion the customer through the design process, leveraging critical-thinking skills that factor in data, research insights, scalability, tech constraints and feedback Business-Focused: Understand and apply business and customer strategy, facilitate design process activities with team and partners, negotiating customer needs and business goals for harmonious outcomes Problem-Solving: Actively build an understanding of the potential of tech and data capabilities and emerging technologies and use this knowledge to inform work, identify new opportunities and help your team navigate technical limitations Collaboration: Foster relationships with partners and continuously expand your network, listening to diverse points of view and collaborating with an informed perspective to influence outcomes, break down silos and gain alignment Communication: Present work to audiences across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to effectively articulate insights and design decisions The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio demonstrating their process, results, and impact. Basic Qualifications At least 3 years of experience with UI and UX design At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma Preferred Qualifications At least 4 years of experience in a UI and UX design role At least 4 years of experience with motion graphics or video editing At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma At least 4 years of experience collaborating with cross functional business partners At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. This salary information is for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. Locations and ranges are provided for informational purposes only and may change. McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Pr. Associate, Design; Richmond, VA: $119,400 - $136,200 for Pr. Associate, Design. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual salary will be reflected in the offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
