Traveling Maintenance Director

The Schroer Group is in search of a Traveling Maintenance Director to facilitate and perform maintenance projects on multiple Altercare facilities throughout Ohio.

Duties performed shall include but not be limited to the following:

Receiving work orders for any of our 22 nursing homes across Ohio pertaining to enhancement projects and repairs.

Perform emergency repairs and projects.

Able to estimate specific project and/or repairs.

Enhancement Projects Would Include:

Remove wallpaper and prep walls for paint.

Bathroom Renovations: remove and replace, cabinets, countertops, toilets, grab bars, flooring and prep walls and ceiling for paint.

Remove and replace light fixtures throughout facility.

Able to remove and install hot water tanks, repair leaking water lines, able to repair/replace mixing valves, replace faucets, drain clearing and other plumbing repairs & replacements.

Able to perform minor electrical repairs and replacements.

Able to perform minor HVAC repairs including, filter replacement, condenser cleaning, roof-top exhaust fan belt replacement, and other minor HVAC maintenance.

Able to remove and install; VCT tiles, Vinyl Planking flooring, carpet squares and linoleum.

Minor roofing and gutter repairs

Performance Requirements:

Salary, Full-time. Normal business hours, also on call & available 24/7/365 days. Works alone or with a team. Oversight of maintenance for multiple skilled nursing facilities. Travel is required.

Possesses the ability to work effectively with all departments and personnel within the facility to ensure the safety of person and provide maintenance and repairs to minimize adverse impacts on normal operations.

Communicates effectively in order to provide proper documentation of work and to correspond with staff, contractors, vendors, sales, local, state and federal regulatory authorities.

Possess the ability to deal tactfully and work harmoniously with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public.

Able to plan and carry out programs in repair, construction and equipment installations.

Require to have a valid driver’s license at all times of employment.

Physical Demands

Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability

Ability to work and function in a fast-paced environment

Ability to lift, push and moderate to heavy loads

Ability to climb and work using ladders and in tight spaces

Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods

Education and Experience

Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

Knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and capentry

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans, schematic diagrams, Etc.

Knowledgeable in building codes, Life Safety Code, OSHA and related codes including facility Long Term Care requirements

Ability to communicate effectively: read, write & type using standard company software

Ability to use a computer, Microsoft Office and Outlook

Working Conditions

Works in all areas of facilities

Ability to manage frequent interruptions

Ability to work beyond normal working hours when required

Required to work in adverse weather conditions

Travel up to multiple hours per day
