Camp Butwin: Summer Camp Ropes Course Specialist (Project Management) About the Opportunity The Minnesota JCC seeks seasonal Ropes Course Specialists for the 2026 summer camp season. Camp Specialists are talented people who share their special skills or expertise in their program area with the camp community by planning and leading camp programming. The Ropes Course Specialist will be responsible for creating exciting, age appropriate, safe, and welcoming outdoor adventure programming for all campers at camp. The specialist will complete program forms detailing the activities they will be running each week with the campers. They will be responsible for submitting supplies requests, maintaining camp equipment used as part of programming, and engaging the campers and staff in all planned activities. This position must attend Pre‑Camp certification training for all areas of Outdoor Adventure.

Daily Schedule Monday – Friday, 8‑hour daily shifts, earliest arrival is 8:30 am and latest departure is 4:30 pm.

Base Compensation $121/day (based on an 8‑hour workday). Plus opportunities for additional pay/bonuses.

Essential Functions

Responsible for creating exciting, age appropriate, safe, and welcoming outdoor adventure programming for all campers at camp.

Complete program forms detailing the activities they will be running each week with the campers.

Submit supplies requests and maintain the camp equipment used as part of programming.

Engage the campers and staff in all planned activities.

Attend and contribute to pre‑camp training sessions, staff meetings, and training sessions once camp is in session.

Participate in open house and family events.

Outline area programs for the week, specifying activities for each age group and skills to be taught at their developmental level.

Record planning on weekly lesson plan sheets.

Promote safety within your area, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.

Maintain inventory of equipment, request supplies as needed, and keep assigned area in good condition.

Design and implement All Camp weekly and specialty programs based on the weekly themes in conjunction with other specialists and senior camp staff.

Complete additional tasks as assigned by the camp leaders.
