Job Description This role is an entry-level position that requires a motivated, self-starting professional who embodies Redland’s values and is committed to ongoing personal and professional growth. This role supports the landscape architecture and planning teams by contributing to the design and documentation of land development projects while developing technical skills through completion of positional Learning & Growth goals. Responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues, taking ownership of assigned tasks, and seeking to understand the broader context and objectives of each task, all while producing creative, high-quality work.
Responsibilities
Providing support to team members and Project Manager(s) as required.
Assisting in the preparation of landscape architectural concept plans, planting plans, construction documents, specifications, and presentation materials for subdivisions, commercial developments, multifamily developments, and other private land development projects.
Assisting in the designs of schematic and conceptual land plans, site planning and yield studies; and in developing and writing site specific land use regulations, zoning variances, and design guidelines for land development entitlement documents
Performing material and code research, material quantity estimation, and other supporting documentation and tasks for projects.
Utilizing AutoCAD (CIVIL3D), Land F/X, Adobe Creative Suite (with emphasis in Photoshop and InDesign), SketchUp, Lumion, and other software to assist with designs and drawings for schematic, design development, and construction documents.
Performing other duties as required.
Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 plus bonus opportunities, DOE
Job Requirements Education & Experience
Possessing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from a LAAB or LAAC accredited curriculum, or six years of combined landscape architecture curriculum and/or landscape architecture work experience.
Holding 0-3 years of landscape architectural design experience primarily focused on private sector land development projects.
Possessing foundational knowledge of landscape architectural and land planning practices, including site planning, layout, grading, hardscape, planting, and irrigation.
Technical Knowledge & Software Skills
Ability to prepare visually appealing and creative color rendered presentation drawings.
Beginner-level proficiency with AutoCAD, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to develop proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land F/X, SketchUp, Lumion, and other software required to complete tasks on land development projects.
Project Understanding & Work Ethic
Maintaining efficiency and attention to detail by completing and reviewing work for accuracy and completeness prior to providing to others.
Organizing work according to the company’s file naming and filing standards.
Understanding project goals, schedules, and budgets, and working efficiently within direction provided by project manager(s) and team members.
Demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks and deadlines.
Being a self-starter who is self-motivated and takes ownership of tasks.
