MGP's own Branded Spirts business is growing following the 2021 acquisition of Luxco, a top spirits producer, bottler, supplier, and importer as well as the 2023 acquisition of Penelope Bourbon, known for its wide range of uniquely blended expressions. Ingredient Solutions delivers nutritional, functional wheat- and pea-based ingredients aligned with consumer trends. The company operates in locations across the Midwestern U.S., and overseas in Northern Ireland and Mexico.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Regional Brand Ambassador partners closely with sales, marketing, barrel program coordinators, and distillery teams to execute single barrel selections, tastings, tours, and events. This position serves as a brand-facing ambassador while also managing the operational details required to support inventory, logistics, and program execution. Through travel, market engagement, and cross-functional collaboration, the role helps expand the reach and reputation of the single barrel programs while maintaining operational excellence. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Program Operations & Brand Experience
Represent and promote the MGP Ingredients and Luxco brands with a strong working knowledge of distilling processes, barrel types, and product differentiation. Support and actively participate in high-value single barrel selections and specialized blending events for state selections, top-tier retailers, and large clubs or groups. Partner with Barrel Program Coordinators to plan and conduct guided tastings aligned to barrel type, purchase volume, and customer needs. Conduct distillery tours for single barrel customers, providing education on MGP Ingredients and Luxco distilleries, production methods, and brand stories. Maintain cross-training across all aspects of the single barrel experience, including tours, inventory, operations, and program management. Remote & Off-Site Barrel Selection Support
Travel to support and sell remote barrel selections, including distillery-based programs at Ross and Squibb in Indiana. Conduct structured barrel selection tours and experiences at Ross and Squibb for customers and trade partners. Support barrel selections at off-site meeting locations in coordination with the sales organization and state-led barrel events. Market Engagement & Field Collaboration
Serve as a visible brand representative at major national marketing events alongside master blenders, distillers, and brand founders. Collaborate with National Brand Ambassadors, Sales, and Marketing teams at regional events, tastings, and branded dinners. Provide cross-functional feedback to Marketing and Master Distillers/Blenders based on customer, consumer, and field insights. In targeted markets, partner with Luxco sales teams and distributor representatives to expand and enhance educational programming. Inventory, Compliance & Administration
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the single barrel area, ensuring adequate inventory of bottles, labels, kits, glassware, and related materials. Prepare single barrel tastings by setting up, cleaning, and restocking tasting rooms before and after each event. Pull, proof, label, and prepare single barrel bourbon samples for the Signature Selection Single Barrel Program. Tape, stencil, verify, and track barrel inventory for single barrel truck shipments. Track and maintain accurate inventory records for barrels and single barrel kits. Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety requirements, including emergency preparedness training. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
High School degree required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid driver’s license required. Minimum of two years of experience in hospitality, bourbon tourism, or a related customer-facing environment preferred Working knowledge of the spirits industry and whiskey production process preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word. Previous experience in hospitality, bourbon tourism, or a related customer-facing role preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing, professional, and engaging presence. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays as business needs require. Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and weather conditions.
