General Responsibilities
The Popular Merchant's Service Representative provides customer support on the products and services associated with the credit and debit card acceptance business for Banco Popular de Puerto Rico merchants and potential new customers. This support is delivered through answering phone calls and emails, and involves data entry, analysis of merchant statements, assessment of charges and fees, decision‑making, and interaction with other departments to resolve customer needs.
Performs duties in a consistently ethical manner, in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, the Code of Ethics, corporate policies, and guidelines. Completes corporate training and certifications related to anti‑money‑laundering, fraud detection, insider trading, and conflict‑of‑interest policies as applicable.
Education And Experience Required Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
Previous experience in customer service roles.
Previous experience in data entry positions.
Knowledge And Skills Required
Excellent customer service skills.
Computer and typing skills, fast data entry.
Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Spanish (fully bilingual).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and internet use.
Critical thinking and analytical ability (interpret information, analyze situations, and make recommendations).
Planning and organizing (handle multiple requests/situations and prioritize).
Demonstrates attention to detail, applies design principles, generates creative solutions.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions.
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
Additional Information 8‑5 Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed, and willing to travel as required to support projects in the region.
