Job Title: Golf Course Technician II
Seasonal Full‑Time position: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $18 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; Every Other Sat‑Sun 7:00 am - 10:00 am

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) the property management company for Leisure World of Maryland a private, age-restricted community comprised of 29 housing associations and 8,500 residents located in Montgomery County, Maryland a full‑time reliable Golf Course Technician to perform daily golf course maintenance including mowing of greens, tees, fairways and roughs; raking of bunkers; weed eating; leaf blowing; tree work; filling divots; and placement of water coolers on course. The employee must regularly be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES Operates a variety of equipment and tools including but not limited to: golf carts, mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, bunker rakes, pruning equipment, rollers, aerators, top dressers, string line trimmers, blowers and a variety of other hand tools to perform the following tasks:
Mowing of greens, tees, fairways and roughs
Walk mowing our lawn bowling green, along with other areas.
Trimming around trees, bunkers, curbing, signage and other objects hard to reach areas for mowers
Raking Bunkers
Filling tee divots
Replacing water coolers and removal of trash on the golf course, tennis courts and gardens
Changing hole locations and relocating tee marker positions
Hose‑watering greens, tees and new sod
Edging sprinkler heads, yardage plaques and mulch beds
Spreading wood chips in various locations in areas out of play
Chipping brush and splitting wood
Leveling soil and seeding or laying sod
Weeding and maintenance of plant beds
Backpack blowing and turbine blowing leaves and storm debris
Shoveling snow and spreading salt on pro shop and maintenance Shop walkways when necessary
Winter tree work
Painting of golf course accessories in the winter offseason
Performing minor maintenance and repair of grounds maintenance equipment.
Operating heavy equipment such as backhoe and trencher
Providing operational guidance and support to part‑time and seasonal coworkers
Assisting in any other requests pertaining to golf maintenance
All other duties as assigned
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS In addition to the Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) staff and contract personnel, the Golf Course Technician principal working relationships are members of Leisure World of Maryland Golf, their family/friends and community residents in general.
LICENSE A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
EDUCATION High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE
Preferably 1 or more years of golf maintenance work or commercial landscaping experience and/or training.
Chainsaw operation experience is a plus
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Ability to consistently provide a high level of accurate work delivered in a timely manner
Ability to prioritize work assignments
Ability to identify and respond to customer needs in a courteous manner
Ability to understand verbal instructions and read work orders and schedules
Ability to operate a Motor Vehicle
Ability to regularly work with and handle fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.
Ability to communicate effectively utilizing various technologies such as telephone, computer, web, e‑mail, etc.
