
Senior Outside Sales Representative

Position Summary
The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for developing strong customer relationships and selling ready mix concrete products and services in the Phoenix metro a rea. As a customer‑facing position, the sales representative will work to provide excellent customer service and will assist customers with selecting the best products for their needs. Working with the sales manager, the sales rep will evaluate existing and potential accounts, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts on a regular basis. The sales representative will also frequently communicate with operations, quality control, and dispatch personnel regarding customer needs.
Work Experience/Skills
Previous ready mix concrete or construction industry experience is required, 5+ years of experience preferred
Work with customers in both the English and Spanish languages
Knowledge of concrete applications, concrete quality and valued added products (VAPs) preferred
Proven sales, negotiation, customer service and customer relationship management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Other duties as needed
Position Responsibilities
Call on and develop relationships with a select group of concrete material buyers in the market area to meet their concrete construction needs while achieving annual sales goals regarding MOMD, ASP, cubic yardage and sales revenues
Effectively administer and communicate quotations, sales reports, backlog, expense accounts, and any other sales data necessary to meet job expectations
Develop new customers and increase company’s market share and profitability in market area
Assist in the development of annual sales plan
Provide frequent personal contact with key customer base to maintain maximum market penetration and profitability for Martin Marietta and ensure customer satisfaction
Effectively communicate with quality control and operating personnel to ensure products and plants are meeting customer expectations
Work closely with district credit personnel regarding new accounts and accounts receivable
Participate in industry related associations
Education
Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, construction management, concrete technologies or related discipline or equivalent experience
