| Outpatient Satellite - Lowndes Satellite |JOB DESCRIPTIONTITLE: Rehabilitative Day Program (RDP) SpecialistCLASSIFICATION: Mental Health Specialist ISALARY RANGE: $29,120.00 - $44, 310.00SUPERVISOR: RDP CoordinatorDEFINITION:This is responsible professional work in the field of mental health with individuals in an RDP setting.
Employees in this category render services directed toward the adjustment to or rehabilitation from mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:Assume case responsibility of designated patients needing RDP services.Assist in supervising clients in total program activities.Direct socialization activities for clients.Maintain appropriate case records.Complete reports as well as all forms and paperwork required by the agency and interagency contract forms.Participate in training events to increase therapeutic skills and to become more knowledgeable in methods and techniques used in the care of RDP patients.Provide transportation to clients via the RDP van.Perform related work as required.REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge of individual and group behavior with special emphasis on problems of the mentally ill.Knowledge of the principles and methods of counseling.Ability to establish rapport with clients.Ability to make clear and pertinent statements orally and written.Ability to serve as a good role model.QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in psychology, social work, or related field OR high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience. Some training in communication or group activities preferred.Must hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
