JOB TITLE:
Property Compliance Specialist
REPORTS TO:
Community Manager and Regional Manager
FLSA STATUS:
Non-exempt
POSITION SUMMARY The Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance. Individuals in this position should possess strong organization skills and a detail‑oriented approach.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Maintain proper tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy, including renewal of contracts, interims, and re‑certification/review of income and household composition.
Determine eligibility for all new admissions in compliance with all financing programs.
Process all new applicants.
Monitor EIV master binders for compliance with federal regulations and requirements.
Review all inspections/audits and assist with corrections and correspondence.
Participate with Compliance Manager in all reviews by outside entities.
Attend supervision meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.
Participate in all required company training requirements.
Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and email in a timely and responsive manner.
Facilitate and mediate communication with assigned clients and landlords as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years affordable housing compliance experience.
Ability to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks.
Strong ability to work well under stressful conditions.
Prompt and dependable.
Strong computer literacy skills essential to the position.
Affordable Housing Certifications a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
