Working Title Associate Director of Compliance and Processing Department Student Financial Assistance Compensation Title Associate Director Position Number 30000204 Position Status Regular Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8:15 am to 4:30 pm. Some weekend and evenings are required throughout the year.
Hours per Week 37.5 Months per Year 12 Purpose of Position The Associate Director for Financial Compliance and Processing is responsible for overseeing the financial aid processing team and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The Associate Director will ensure that Financial Assistance goals and targets are met, work closely with auditors, internally and externally, for annual and ad-hoc audits, review and research federal and state policies, and provide recommendations for policy changes to adhere to regulations.
Primary Responsibilities - Maintain compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations applicable to Financial Aid.
- Research federal and state policies and procedures that may be used as a guide for training.
- Retrieve, update, process and reconcile state and federal aid rosters (EFT).
- Responsible for awarding of grant funds and scholarships, as directed by the Office of Comptroller and Campus Community.
- Provide reports and write responses to USED.
- Supervises the Financial Assistance Processing team.
- Provides leadership/overnight to NCAA financial aid compliance.
- Bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience in financial aid or related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, including understanding the requirements and regulations associated with different types of financial aid, such as grants, scholarships, and loans.
- Attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong ability to lead and supervise a team responsible for financial aid processing and compliance.
- Problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex financial aid issues and develop effective solutions, customer service skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service and respond to student inquiries in a timely and professional manner is critical.
