Summary

Our client, a premier public

accounting and consulting firm, is seeking an accomplished Tax Senior Manager

to assume a strategic leadership role within their practice. This position is

designed for a high-caliber CPA capable of overseeing complex engagements,

driving business development, and serving as a trusted advisor to a diverse

portfolio of small to mid-cap clients.

The Senior Manager will function

as a key decision-maker within the engagement team, responsible for

orchestrating the delivery of sophisticated tax solutions including provisions,

transfer pricing, and comprehensive consultation. Beyond technical execution,

this role requires a leader dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence,

mentoring the next generation of tax professionals, and strengthening

cross-departmental synergies to maximize firm-wide value.

Essential Duties and

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

Strategic Engagement

Leadership:

Direct and oversee multiple concurrent tax engagements, ensuring strict

adherence to deadlines, budget parameters, and quality control standards.

Optimize resource allocation by effectively managing the workflow of

Managers, Seniors, and Staff.

Complex Compliance &

Advisory:

Leverage advanced technical expertise to review high-level tax returns

(corporate, partnership, expatriate, and dual-status) and provide

authoritative guidance on complex tax matters.

Regulatory

Representation:

Serve as the primary representative for clients during federal and state

tax audits; formulate responses to regulatory inquiries and negotiate

directly with tax authorities to resolve complex issues.

Technical Research &

Transfer Pricing:

Spearhead high-level research initiatives regarding intricate client

transactions and legislative changes. Analyze and approve transfer pricing

studies and tax provisions for financial statement reporting.

Client Relationship

Management:

Cultivate and sustain enduring client partnerships by serving as the

principal point of contact. Proactively identify opportunities to deliver

value-added professional services and mitigate client risk.

Talent Development &

Mentorship:

Champion the professional growth of the tax practice by mentoring,

coaching, and training team members. Conduct performance reviews and

provide actionable feedback to foster technical and professional

advancement.

Business Development:

actively contribute to

the firm's growth trajectory by participating in proposal development,

marketing initiatives, and high-level talent acquisition efforts.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in

Accounting or a related field with a concentration in Tax from an

accredited institution.

Licensure:

Active CPA or EA

certification is mandatory.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of 10 years

of progressive tax experience within a public accounting environment, with

a proven track record in management.

Required

Technical Proficiency:

Extensive experience in

the preparation and review of individual, business, benefit fund, real

estate, and exempt organization tax returns.

Digital Acumen:

Advanced proficiency

with tax compliance software and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Executive Communication:

Superior verbal and

written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax

concepts to diverse audiences and build consensus.

Operational Excellence:

Exceptional

organizational skills with the ability to manage multifaceted projects and

teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Language:

Business-level fluency

in English and Japanese.

Preferred

Leadership Background:

Prior tenure as a Tax

Manager with a demonstrated history of team leadership and development.
