
Line Producer / Editor

BMG is seeking a highly skilled and broadcast-obsessed Line Producer/Editor to join its Washington D.C. team. This is a full-time, on-site position embedded in a fast-paced live financial news production environment. The ideal candidate is a dual-threat creative professional, equally at home calling a live show from the booth as they are cutting a high-impact social video package in post. You will work directly with clients to understand their editorial objectives, take ownership of the full production workflow, and serve as the connective tissue between live broadcast execution and digital content delivery. This role demands someone who thrives under pressure, leads with instinct, and never stops learning what audiences want next.
Key Responsibilities Live Broadcast Production
Line produce live news broadcasts including creating rundowns, writing scripts using Inception, and calling assigned shows from the booth
Develop and manage rundowns that reflect editorial priorities, breaking news, and client objectives
Coordinate talent, technical crew, and control room operations to ensure seamless on-air execution
Serve as the primary point of contact during live broadcasts, making real-time editorial and production decisions
Editing & Post-Production
Edit and produce video pieces using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
Cut fast-turnaround news b-roll and packages with accuracy and editorial judgment
Create high-end sizzle reels and promotional content for clients and internal use
Produce high-quality video with a dynamic mix of text, graphics, photos, animations, and motion design
Write clear, compelling scripts and gather all necessary production elements including photos, video, and licensed music
Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate and enhance the editing and production workflow
Digital & Social Content
Layout and edit vertical stories for animations, long-form editorial, and video content for Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and IGTV
Optimize video content for platform-specific performance including watch-time, engagement, and algorithm best practices
Research, conceptualize, pitch, and produce original social video content aligned with trending topics and audience behavior
Collaborate with the social media team to develop and execute data-informed content strategies
Production Operations & Administration
Work closely with the Supervising Producer to prioritize the edit queue and maintain production schedules
Create cue sheets and collaborate with the legal team on music rights and content clearances
Conduct quality control on all internally produced video content before delivery
Assist with various on-location shoots and live event productions as needed
Requirements & Qualifications Required Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience line producing live news broadcast
Minimum 4 years of experience in digital content development and video editing
Demonstrated experience with vertical video production for social platforms
Proven track record of creating short-form, high-impact social videos for a major brand or media organization
Experience in live streaming and live event production
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop
Experience with broadcast rundown and scripting software (Inception preferred)
Strong working knowledge of AI tools for production, editing, and content creation
Deep understanding of content creation and publishing best practices for YouTube, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Facebook, Snapchat, and IGTV
Ability to produce graphics, motion design, and visual content elements independently
