Job Summary The safe and successful operation of a nuclear power plant depends upon the orchestrated efforts of hundreds of dedicated professionals. In turn, organizing a large, diverse team requires effective communications via multiple channels. To execute this important work, Dominion Energy’s Nuclear Fleet Communications team is actively seeking to add a Senior Communications Specialist (“Specialist”).

The Specialist will focus on supporting the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station located in Jenkinsville, SC. They will provide communications services including, but not limited to:

Establishing trusted working relationships with leaders and team members for the purpose of developing communications plans and strategies in support of business goals.

Preparing briefings, executive messages, newsletters, video and audio messages and other materials about company policy, strategy, events and projects for internal distribution to the station and to the fleet.

Understanding and staying abreast of internal and industry issues that impact fleet and station operations.

Identifying and playing a significant role in creating key messages delivered by station leaders to employees.

Identifying communications opportunities and needs, and leading development of communication plans to reach multiple audiences.

Advising management on communications strategies and tactics.

Providing daily guidance to departmental staff on complex communications issues or projects.

Assisting with programs and information gathering that support External Affairs and Corporate Communications.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

5+ years of experience directly related to corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, media, etc.

Experience managing complex communications projects, with budget and time deadline.

Demonstrated knowledge of concepts, applications and theories in internal communications, external communications, public relations or media relations.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Initiative and self‑direction.

Superior writing and editing skills.

Ability to work well with others.

Ability to lead a team, or to work productively within a team.

Ability to process and respond to information quickly.

Ability to develop and manage a network of contacts for information gathering and dissemination.

The highly preferred candidate will have prior corporate communications experience within the nuclear energy industry.

Education Requirements Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communications

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.

Working Conditions Travel up to 25%
