Social Media Manager – New Play (Mister Snickers of New York City)
Mister Snickers of New York City is a new play presented as part of the Fresh Fruit Festival, followed by a continued run at Urban Stages.
This is a queer, intimate downtown theater piece exploring identity, relationships, and emotional connection — with a unique appeal to LGBTQ+ audiences and dog lovers.
We are seeking a creative, hands‑on Social Media Manager to build and execute a content‑driven campaign across Instagram, YouTube, and Meta Ads.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys:
capturing content in rehearsal rooms
creating short‑form video
working in a fast‑paced, collaborative theater environment
Responsibilities Content Creation & Management
Capture photo and video during rehearsals (5 days/week)
Create and post content (Reels, Stories, Feed)
Maintain consistent posting schedule
Campaign Execution
Execute a structured social media plan
Produce cast videos, rehearsal content, and audience reaction videos
Paid Media
Set up and manage Meta (Instagram/Facebook) ad campaigns
Monitor performance and adjust strategy
Tracking & Organization
Maintain a Google Sheets tracker for content and performance
Organize assets from designer, photographer, and production team
Collaboration
Work closely with producers and creative team
Capture key moments including promo shoot and performances
Qualifications
Interest in theater, film, or live performance
Experience with Instagram and short‑form video
Basic video editing skills (phone editing is fine)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred (Not Required)
Prior social media or content creation experience
Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager
Passion for LGBTQ+ storytelling
