BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a Photojournalist, you will shoot and edit stills and video content for web and broadcast on tight deadlines. You will work collaboratively with reporters, assignment desk editors, and production staff during the news‑gathering process, as well as work independently. The role involves managing the upkeep of the assigned company vehicle and equipment, and working with video news‑gathering equipment such as lighting, lenses, and tripods. You’ll make data‑informed decisions about what resonates to connect our audience with the stories that matter.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications
Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage experience 5+ years, microwave truck experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field or comparable television work experience preferred
Technical skills: Ability to work with bonded cellular live streaming technology and operate ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles under company guidelines and proper safety parameters
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate solutions; and ability to relate well with populations and age groups
Abilities: Ability to interface with internal company personnel, requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving
Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
Schedule: Ability to work various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to breaking news or severe weather emergencies

Works inside in a climate‑controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions
Drives company vehicle to and from different locations in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws
Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes and cover stand‑by responsibilities when assigned

The base pay for this position generally is between $25.90 and $46.70 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and, for certain positions, are eligible for additional incentive‑based compensation such as bonuses.
