
IGNITE Federal Grant Instructional Designer

Overview
The instructional designer will support faculty with the integration of appropriate teaching and learning strategies and tools in their courses, including in-person, hybrid, and online formats. This position will have a specialized focus on developing and supporting Open Educational Resources (OER) and instructional materials for the General Engineering Technology (GET) and the Electric Vehicle Engineering Technology (EVET) certificates and associate degree programs. The designer will also support faculty training initiatives related to these programs. Work outcomes will have a direct and highly visible impact on the quality of instruction, services, and reputation of MTC. Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Grants Project Director, this employee works under minimum supervision but has high responsibility and accountability. This individual must be self-motivated, organized, possess sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and be a creative problem solver. The instructional designer will also collaborate with the Curriculum Developer and other team members in the grant-funded office supporting the EVET and GET initiatives. Location
This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Northeast campus. Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, applied science, or a related technical field and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role, along with experience in curriculum development or instruction in a higher education or industry setting.
