WWL Louisiana, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in New Orleans, is seeking a photographer and editor to join our team. The ideal candidate is proficient at creating captivating and shareable content for television, social media, and mobile platforms. You must be a self-starter who is technologically savvy and can work under tight deadlines. We are looking for individuals who possess a keen artistic eye, a deep understanding of editing and photography techniques, and a passion for storytelling.

Responsibilities

Use editing tools to create content for weekend morning newscasts and digital platforms.

Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.

Setup & shoot reporter live shots during the week and fully edit on deadline short and long‑form elements.

Work closely with news producers, reporters, management, and the digital team.

Cover breaking news, general assignment news, weather, feature stories, and sports.

Requirements

Experience as a photographer and/or editor preferred.

Knowledge of Edius editing software preferred.

Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressure.

Must be deadline-oriented, maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules.

Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends.

Some jobs are covered by a collective bargaining agreement and thus some or all of the benefits described herein may not apply. For example, some newsroom bargaining unit employees receive health and retirement benefits under plans administered by the union.
