Assistant Director of Athletic Performance

The expected starting salary for this position is $53,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Assist with individual fitness programming for all varsity athletes for year-round training programs Assist with teaching and assessing athletes throughout the day around their academic and practice commitments Assist with meeting with head coaches on a monthly basis to collaborate on training goals and expectations Assist with meeting with athletic trainers to monitor return to play, injury and physical therapy expectations Assist with facility and equipment maintenance, upkeep and replacement Collaboration and new ideas to improve facility, training, and department Responsible for the hiring, scheduling, and training of student work staff Know and is compliant with all NCAA Division III, MIAC and Carleton policies and regulations as well as eligibility requirements Contribute to the college campus community through PEAR department meetings, MIAC strength and conditioning coach meetings, PEAR committees and college engagement events. Assist with budget management Understand and support students who are balancing multiple responsibilities as students and athletes in a rigorous academic environment. Additional Job Responsibilities
Teach a PE activity class Coach in the Lifestyles personal training program at the Rec Center by taking on clients that choose to participate in this program Education/Experience/Skills
Required: BA or BS degree Current certification from a nationally recognized certification program per NCAA rules 1-2 years coaching at the collegiate level and/or in the private sector with experience in: Designing and implementing safe, effective and high-level training programs for athletes in a variety of sports Fostering a positive, organized and enriching training environment for the student-athletes Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the sport, attention to detail as well as excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills Self-motivated with the ability to help recruit, teach and coach highly talented scholar-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment Valid driver’s license.
