3D Motion Designer / Multimedia Artist - New York, NY | 1+ Years Experience

The Planet Group’s New York-based Law Firm is seeking a 3D Motion Designer / Multimedia Artist to join their team. In this role, you will help conceptualize, design, produce, film, edit, and distribute high-quality 3D/2D animation, video, and audio productions. This role requires strong 3D animation and motion graphic skills, alongside videography, photography, and other digital media expertise.

• Note on Specialization: While this role supports various functions (including video and photography), the core of this position is high-level 3D Motion Artistry. We are seeking a specialist who can leverage Maxon Cinema 4D and industry-standard plugins to create sophisticated, broadcast-quality 3D assets.

• Location: On-site in New York (Mon-Friday on-site)
• Pay Rate: $40-$44/hr depending on experience (W2 and benefit options)
• Duration: 6-months to start with potential extension / conversion

3D Motion Designer / Multimedia Artist Responsibilities:

Primary Focus:

• Support the Multimedia department in creating high-end 3D/2D animation and motion graphics from ideation to distribution.
• Create or refine video/audio, graphic, infographics, and animation elements using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Act as videographer and photographer for shoots, including sound monitoring, lighting, and retouching.
• Prepare and operate studio equipment (cameras, audio mixers, video switchers, and set design).
• Produce and direct audio projects such as podcasts and voice-overs.
• Manage and organize media assets and facilitate project briefs to ensure deadlines are met.

3D Motion Designer / Multimedia Artist Qualifications:

• 1+ years of proven experience in professional multimedia production.
• Expertise in 3D: High proficiency in Maxon: Cinema 4D and associated plugins (X-Particles, Greyscalegorilla, INSYDIUM, Forester).
• Software Mastery: Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and tracking software (Mocha Pro, PFTrack).
• Visual Storytelling: Ability to bring a script to life via storyboarding and 3D pre-visualization.
• Adaptability: Must excel in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Education: Degree in Design, Animation, Visual Arts, or a related discipline.
