Full Position Summary As an Account Representative with The GTI Group, you are expected to develop deep expertise in all aspects of freight transportation across North America. Your primary responsibility is to educate and support customers by presenting GTIs innovative supply chain and logistics solutions. This role blends inside sales, account management, and problem solving, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience while strictly adhering to all safety requirements. You will be provided with the tools and resources needed to consistently win additional business in partnership with our sales and operations team. The Account Representative will receive requests from both internal and external sources, and this individual will be required to ensure the transaction is completed. You will be assigned accounts which you will be required to manage on an ongoing basis and interact with them daily working to build long-term relationships, analyze their freight characteristics and build a partnership to meet their needs. Your Day-to-Day Impact Identify and generate new revenue opportunities through analysis and discovery. Penetrate accounts by selling a diverse service portfolio. Partner with sales and operations team to create solutions based on customer needs, load optimization, pricing strategies, and implementation. Resolve day-to-day freight challenges in a timely and efficient manner. Develop account relationships with contacts at multiple levels within customer organizations. Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities: comparing data from different sources and using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or appropriate solutions. This will/may include selection of carriers, taking action that is consistent with the available facts, constraints and probable consequences and ensuring the carrier is vetted and meets both company and industry standards. Explore and negotiate positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that gain acceptance of all parties (carriers/customers/sales representatives/operations/administration). Provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting if requested. When not serving as the primary account representative or duties are complete, you will concentrate on capacity functions. Other Job-related duties as required including Carrier facing or Carrier related activities as deemed fit by supervisors Essentials For Your Success Strong business knowledge of the North American transportation market and customers Strong drayage experience Drive for results demonstrate initiative to achieving or surpassing results against an internal or external standard of excellence. Shaw a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to customer satisfaction. Experience in a non-asset brokerage model with knowledge of open deck, and/or closed van trailers, reefers, heavy haul, and more. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Willingness to learn and persevere to learn new facets of the industry Passion, perseverance, and a drive to succeed Strong pricing abilities in a spot market environment Ability to build strong relationships Contributor to the success of a team good team player Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong aptitude for condensing large amounts of data from different sources and applying them in a fast-paced environment Ability to prioritize workload and allocate the necessary time and resources to ensure the work is completed efficiently and within the given timelines. Strong Computer Skills Knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel Knowledge of Load Link/PC Miler/DAT/RMIS whichever may apply. Knowledge of open deck/over dimensional/heavy weight transportation when required. Strong communication skills. (Written and Oral) Willingness to travel, as needed Education and/or Experience Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Minimum Experience Required: Two (2) years in a related field of over the road transportation and brokerage (planning/customer service/Logistics Specialist/planner). Desirable Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in related field and other professional designations related to the Transportation and Logistics Field.
