Wofford College’s Office of International Programs (OIP) and Center for Community-Based Learning (CCBL) invite applications for the position of Global and Community Engagement (GACE) Fellow. The GACE Fellow supports both departments, providing administrative and operational support, managing departmental events, and engaging with campus and community stakeholders.The GACE Fellow is a full-time, on-campus position, working 37.5 hours/week with regular office hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. The position is focused on learning, especially : career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity & inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and technology. Graduates from 2024-2026, especially those interested in working in the fields of higher education, communications, event planning, community engagement, and/or international education, are encouraged to apply. This position can be a 1- or 2-year fellowship.**QUALIFICATIONS:**The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree (preferably from a liberal arts institution), excellent problem-solving skills, written and oral communication skills, and keen attention to detail. A collaborative approach to work, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build collaborations with diverse communities are essential. The candidate will demonstrate a desire to strengthen Wofford’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, including supporting students from historically underserved backgrounds. A demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and professional development and the ability to prioritize and follow through to meet project deadlines are required. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain a pleasant and customer service-oriented demeanor while managing projects simultaneously. Proficiency with technology and interest in utilizing essential department-specific software in improving processes and communication (including web-based resources, databases, etc.) are essential, as are the ability to take initiative, anticipate departmental needs, and work independently.**RESPONSIBILITIES:**50% Administrative, Operational, and Customer Service Support* Work closely with both departments on data analysis, assessment, and marketing programs to students.* Track student engagement in departmental programs using departmental databases and other software.* Manage record-keeping/filing systems, database files, and calendars for each department.* Process invoices, purchase supplies, and maintain office inventory.* Submit facilities requests to resolve maintenance needs.* Anticipate departmental needs related to administrative support, communications and purchasing.* Contribute to departmental meetings and initiatives.* Supervise student workers as needed. • Serve as primary point of contact for both departments from on-and off-campus stakeholders, directing calls and inquiries to relevant staff, as appropriate.* Respond to emails, phone calls, and in-person visitors, prioritizing urgent matters.* Conducting interviews for departmental student programs.* Maintain web-based databases, including communicating with students regarding outstanding documentation.30% Marketing and Communications* Manage departmental social media platforms, including the creation and implementation of social media campaigns.* Support marketing initiatives through the creation of web content and physical marketing materials.* Develop knowledge of the campus and an understanding of its culture.* Respect and maintain appropriate privacy and confidentiality according to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).* Meet with prospective students and their families to promote Wofford College initiatives.15% Events Management* Coordinate with vendors for event needs.* Procure supplies and materials for events.* Contact on-campus partners for room reservations.* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a timely fashion to ensure program and logistical success.* Promote departmental events.5% Other Duties as Assigned: As a valued staff of the college, the Global and Community Engagement Fellow may be assigned specific projects or to perform College service, including participating in College events, committees, or working groups as elected, appointed, or assigned.
