Radio Repair TechnicianPosition Overview
The Radio Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, programming, and maintaining digital communication and two-way radio equipment used in public safety, government, and enterprise environments. This role focuses primarily on hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, system configuration, and performance testing to ensure reliable communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair two-way radios, repeaters, base stations, and related communication equipment
Troubleshoot RF issues, power supply failures, and circuit board malfunctions
Perform bench-level repairs, firmware updates, and device reprogramming
Conduct routine maintenance and operational testing of communication systems
Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inventory logs
Provide technical troubleshooting support to internal teams and customers as needed
Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience repairing electronic hardware such as computers, networking devices, or radios
Familiarity with circuit boards, electronic components, and power systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Hands-on experience with two-way radio systems
Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters; spectrum analyzers and signal generators are a plus
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of experience in digital wireless equipment, radio frequency systems, or a related technical field
Knowledge of microwave and wireless RF concepts preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer-focused mindset and ability to work collaboratively
Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at different elevations

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
