Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate a tractor to mow and maintain large fields and grounds
- Perform pre-operation checks and basic maintenance (e.g., oil changes, blade sharpening, greasing)
- Identify and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Follow safety protocols and ensure equipment is used properly
- Keep daily logs of work completed and maintenance performed
- Collaborate with the team to prioritize work areas
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver's license (CDL not required)
- Proven experience operating tractors and mowing equipment
- Strong knowledge of tractor controls/operation and routine tractor maintenance
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and good time management
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Commitment to safety for self, co-workers, and the public
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude or small engine repair experience
- Familiarity with safety and environmental guidelines related to groundskeeping
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent desired
- Previous outside construction, landscape, or similar field experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must
- 6 months commercial landscape experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, squatting, bending) for extended periods
- Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
