Middle Market Account Executive
The Middle Market Account Executive in our Construction Practice plays a fundamental role dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and expertise to our construction clients with premiums below $250,000. This position serves as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively. Collaborating closely with the Risk Advisor, the Middle Market AE plays a fundamental role in managing client accounts, fostering strong relationships, and contributing to the growth of our construction insurance portfolio.
Essential Functions
- Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients through proactive contact initiatives.
- Manage a book of middle market sized construction clients, including general contractors, trade contractors and architectural and engineering firms.
- Ability to act as the Risk Advisor in their absence (run client meetings, make strategic decisions, negotiate with carriers, etc.).
- Review construction contracts' insurance and indemnification provisions for compliance and red flags in partnership with on-staff attorney.
- Possess a working knowledge of construction-specific coverages.
- Collaborate with the Risk Advisor in market selection for new and renewal business on designated accounts.
- Efficient and accurate handling of service requests by phone and email, including requesting quotes, remarketing, negotiating pricing and coverage, generating proposals, etc.
- Solid understanding of the agency management system, carrier websites, products, and coverages.
- Develop dependable working relationships with carriers, broker servicing networks, and other providers.
- Collaborate internally and be a positive contributor in a team environment.
- Utilize strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate an energetic self-starter mindset that is flexible, consultative, and results oriented.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience
- 3+ years of commercial lines insurance experience
- 2+ years of specific construction account experience
- Accreditation & Designations
- Wisconsin Property and Casualty insurance license required within 90 days of employment and maintained throughout the course of employment.
- CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation, preferred
- CRIS (Construction Risk Insurance Specialist) designation, preferred
