
Real Estate Developer’s Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Real Estate Developer’s Assistant to support our team in the execution and management of affordable housing projects, with a specific focus on the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) application process. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of real estate development and demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting successful LIHTC applications.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, organization, and submission of LIHTC applications to state and federal housing agencies.
Coordinate with consultants, legal counsel, architects, and finance partners to gather required documentation and meet deadlines. Lender interface.
Maintain project timelines, due dates, and compliance checklists throughout the development process.
Support the development team with market research, due diligence, and feasibility analysis.
Track and manage application status, approval timelines, and post-award requirements.
Assist in drafting and reviewing development proposals, proformas, funding applications, and compliance reports.
Organize and maintain detailed records of communications, submissions, and agency responses.
Prepare internal summaries and reports for senior management on project and application status.
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and provide general administrative support to the development team.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with LIHTC applications and affordable housing development.
Experience in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Strong understanding of affordable housing programs and financing structures, including LIHTC, HOME, and CDBG.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working for or with a real estate development company, housing finance agency, or tax credit syndicator.
Familiarity with state Qualified Allocation Plans (QAPs) and housing agency procedures.
Understanding of zoning, permitting, and entitlements processes.
