We are dedicated to a truly all-platform experience: a national cable channel plus a vibrant digital presence.We are seeking a talented copy editor who is a confident headline and summary writer, an expert on AP style and understands how to make the most of digital content.This job is based in Chicago.Position Description* Proofread stories, text within videos, and social media content* Craft compelling and searchable headlines and subheads that inform, encourage readers to click into story, and have a tone that reflects the NewsNation identity.* Write headlines and captions on YouTube that inform and convince people to watch* Utilize SEO best practices.* Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met.* Social media publishing* Homepage management* Clip broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels.Qualifications* 3+ years working as a copy editor or similar role in a major newsroom* Work in national newsrooms and, specifically, national televisions newsrooms is a plus* Strong knowledge of search engine optimization* Experience working with content management systems like WordPress* Experience working with video inside Anvato, BitCentral, OBS or Latakoo a plus.* Excellent communicator, both oral written* Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Annually* #LI-On-siteBenefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
