Core Responsibilities:Execute daily publishing across Facebook, Instagram, X, and emerging platforms with speed and precisionTranslate written articles into high-performing social formats, including headlines, captions, and visual pairingsIdentify and prioritize stories with strong distribution potential based on timeliness, relevance, and audience interestMonitor real-time performance metrics (engagement, CTR, shares) and adjust execution accordinglyMaintain consistency in brand voice, tone, and editorial standards across all platformsCollaborate with editorial and leadership teams to align distribution with key narratives and prioritiesSupport development of repeatable content formats that scale performance across multiple pages and audiencesCandidate Profile:Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to social media accounts with measurable engagementStrong instinct for what drives clicks, shares, and conversation in a news or media environmentAbility to operate at high speed without sacrificing accuracy or judgmentClear understanding of platform dynamics (particularly Facebook and X) and how content distribution behavesHighly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, performance-driven environmentAlignment with the values and mission of The Western JournalCompensation: Based on experience and demonstrated capabilityCompensation will be reviewed after 90 days, with opportunity for increase based on performance and outputSchedule Expectations: Flexible structure, but candidates must be consistently available for daily publishing and responsive to time-sensitive news cycles.
