Media Relations & Communications Specialist – Media Response, Research & Content Development Responsible for managing media inquiries, developing responses, and supporting communication strategies in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. This role focuses on research, writing, and direct engagement with reporters while ensuring timely and accurate responses to external inquiries. The position combines media relations, content development, and analytical research. It involves monitoring incoming requests, preparing messaging, and supporting leadership visibility through effective communication. Success in this role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, the ability to handle sensitive or negative media inquiries, and consistently meeting strict external deadlines. Task Breakdown & Workflow 40% research to support media responses and prepare for potential inquiries 20% meetings 20% managing incoming and internal emails 20% miscellaneous tasks, including: Inbox management AI tool refinement Short team calls Team Interaction Bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with hiring manager Ongoing collaboration through email and team communications Work Environment Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Direct interaction with reporters and external media Requires handling sensitive or negative media inquiries High emphasis on accuracy, responsiveness, and message quality Involves coordination across teams and communication channels Candidate Requirements Years Of Experience 5+ years of relevant experience Education Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in: Communications Business Journalism Must-Have Skills (Ranked) Strong writing and editing skills Media relations experience Experience working with AI tools Nice-to-Have Skills Additional experience in media relations or communications strategy #J-18808-Ljbffr
