Product Owner - Forecasting & Process Documentation
Position Overview
We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the organization, documentation, and productization of a granular forecasting process. This role will play a critical part in transitioning a proof-of-concept into a scalable, well-defined product. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technical teams, ensuring stakeholder needs are clearly translated into actionable product requirements while maintaining comprehensive documentation.
Documentation will be a core and ongoing deliverable for at least the first six months, alongside shaping product direction and supporting development efforts.
Key Responsibilities Define, document, and refine goals, deliverables, and workflows for the granular load forecasting project Organize and productize existing processes developed during proof-of-concept phases Translate stakeholder input into clear product requirements and development priorities Collaborate closely with data scientists and technical teams to guide product evolution Lead stakeholder engagement, facilitate discussions, and align expectations across teams Centralize and maintain comprehensive project and process documentation Partner with the forecasting manager to support team operations, including standups, reviews, and key touchpoints Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery Typical Day
Engage proactively with stakeholders to gather input and provide updates Lead discussions to align on priorities, scope, and expectations Translate business needs into structured product requirements Collaborate with data science teams on development direction Conduct focused, independent work on documentation and process structuring Work Environment & Culture
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong cross-functional interaction. While there is a significant individual contributor component (especially around documentation), success depends on continuous communication and coordination across multiple teams with competing priorities.
Required Qualifications
5-7 years of relevant experience (flexible based on candidate strength) Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to create clear, structured documentation Experience translating stakeholder needs into product requirements Familiarity with JIRA in an enterprise environment Experience working with technical teams, particularly data science Preferred Qualifications
Background in energy, utilities, or power sector (strongly preferred) Prior experience as a Product Owner or in product management Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize across multiple stakeholders Strong organizational and process-oriented mindset Key Competencies
Stakeholder management and expectation setting Prioritization and decision-making in complex environments Ability to navigate competing priorities Attention to detail with a passion for clarity and documentation.
