District Sales Manager- Texas First Rentals

The District Sales Manager is responsible for the sales of the organization's products in a specified district or major geographical area. This position sells the Company's products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation; in addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; collaborate with key internal/external resources; participate in ongoing self-development. Essential functions include hiring, developing, evaluating, and influencing effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of legendary customer service; modeling, promoting, reinforcing, and rewarding the consistent use of Holt's values based leadership tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our vision, values, and mission; developing and implementing strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals; directing sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals accordingly; reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates; advising dealers and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques; assigning sales territory to sales representatives; analyzing sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales; representing company at trade association meetings to promote product; delivering sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives; meeting with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals; coordinating liaison between sales department and other sales related units; analyzing and controlling expenditures of district to conform to budgetary requirements; preparing periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion; monitoring and evaluating the activities and products of the competition; recommending or approving budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work; working safely at all times and adhering to all applicable safety policies; complying with all company policies, procedures, and standards; performing other duties as assigned. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry; knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; exceptional customer service and relationship building skills; customer retention; excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups; interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with vendors, own staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence and persuade; excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills; advanced Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to coach and mentor less senior sales staff; ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations; the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects; ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making; ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately; ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness; ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Education and experience include five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required; high school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred; driven and results oriented; business development, KPIs, and market expansion to meet corporate targets. Supervisory responsibilities include directing and managing the Texas First sales team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Travel includes up to 50% travel; valid driver's license. Physical requirements include performing each job duty and responsibility satisfactorily; extended periods in a stationary position; occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.; frequently communicating with others; routinely reacting to visual, auditory, and other signals; working at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions. Work environment includes working conditions primarily indoors in a professional office environment; occasionally works outdoors with possible exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, hazardous materials, flammable liquids, high noise areas, dust, and unfavorable fumes and vapors.
