What will I do?
Collaborate with Merchandising, Store Operations, Maintenance, and manufacturers' representatives to address design needs and deliver projects on time and within budget
Design and draft using 2D and 3D applications, imagery, or storyboarding, bringing to life project stakeholders’ concepts/ideas; produce architectural and interior design work on projects, assisting the Project Team with programming and preparation of construction documents
Perform field inspections, research, measurements or calculations; verify and update information to ensure accuracy; research and identify continuous improvement opportunities and make recommendations
Utilize knowledge and expertise to assist with the layout and plan preparation for implementation and/or permitting purposes; evaluate, select and apply standard design techniques and procedures, using judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications
Coordinate information with other group members and external architectural and engineering resources
Execute program specifications within established parameters; research and provide input on equipment, materials, or products that meet Wegmans criteria as necessary
Develop conceptual designs in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team through charettes and reviews
Required Qualifications
2 or more years of related work experience, including 1 or more years of architecture, interior design, engineering or construction experience
Knowledge of the construction documentation process, equipment and fixtures, and drawing package components, including plans, elevations, details, and schedules
Proficiency in software including MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in interior architecture or interior design
Working towards or completed NCIDQ examination
Experience in designing retail and/or food oriented projects
