Intermediate Designer

Space Exploration is seeking a talented intermediate designer to assist with multiple new and ongoing interior renovation projects in and around New York City and beyond. Space Exploration is a design‑focused firm that specializes in sensitively detailed adaptive reuse projects infused with warmth, character, and modern flourishes. Our small, integrated team is a meritocracy where every voice is heard and valued. We're looking for a new colleague who shares our outlook to join our team. The successful candidate should have at least four years of experience with design, modeling (Rhino required), renderings and visualization, drafting (with AutoCAD), and specification, and an easy familiarity with the arc of a complex design project. A sophisticated understanding of materials and an informed opinion about where to source them will help distinguish you from the rest. Exposure to construction administration and an understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods is also a big plus.
