Ameron Pole Products, a subsidiary of Arcosa, Inc., is seeking a Director of Safety & Environmental. This position will be based in one of our facilities located in Tulsa, OK. In this role, you will provide general and functional management to meet Arcosa’s Safety and Environmental management policies. The Director of Safety & Environmental will provide leadership over the BU plant Safety team members who are responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs, processes, and policies to safeguard employees, the general public, and to ensure compliance with governmental regulations. What You’ll Do:
Manage the development and execution of strategic Safety and Environmental Plans for the business unit
Act as a resource to Plant Safety Managers on proper safety practices and techniques
Evaluate training needs of Plant Safety Managers to enable effective operation of the established safety systems
Accountable for the performance and results of a team within EHS discipline or function
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
Establish and recommend changes guided by EHS policies, procedures, and business plans
Develops, administers budgets, schedules, performance standards and communication regarding EHS functions
Directs and manages resources to implement strategical and tactical business plans and programs
Perform internal Business Unit Safety Audits to determine compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
Assist the Corporate Safety Department in identifying loss trends; strategically prioritize corrective measures based on sound statistical analysis
Act as a subject matter resource on all areas relating to Arcosa Corporate Safety Standards
Prepares and maintains reports related to facility’s safety and environmental conditions in compliance with Arcosa Corporate and regulatory requirements
Work with facilities to help them achieve a performance-based safety and health program instead of a compliance-based program. This includes helping plants implement behavior-based safety programs, effective safety committees, and better training modules
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field required
Minimum of 12 years’ work experience in Environmental, Health and Safety
Minimum of 7 years’ work experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or related industry
Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA federal regulations relative to safety, health, and environmental issues
Strong understanding of EHS Management Systems
Fluent in Microsoft Office applications
Must be able to travel up to 25-50%
