Job Goal The Student Success Center Paraprofessional supports student academic and behavioral success by managing in‑school suspension (ISS), providing mentorship and academic guidance to students in online learning programs, coordinating tutoring interventions, and assisting with intervention support systems. This role ensures that students are supported both academically and socially to increase engagement, accountability, and achievement.
Conditions for Employment
Must complete the District Paraprofessional requirements within 90 days of being hired
Work Schedule Follows the district paraprofessional calendar. Regular school day hours; after‑school hours may be required for tutoring coordination.
Primary Responsibilities 1. In-School Suspension (ISS) Facilitation
Supervise students assigned to ISS, maintaining a structured, respectful, and supportive environment that follows all District guidelines.
Provide access to and assist with completion of classwork and assignments.
Guide students in academic areas where they may be struggling, ensuring they remain on pace with their peers.
Distribute and collect student reflection forms to promote self‑awareness and accountability.
Facilitate restorative practices, including structured projects or activities focused on repairing harm and restoring relationships.
Communicate with teachers about completed and pending work.
Track and report ISS attendance and outcomes.
Monitor progress, grades, and attendance for all students enrolled in online courses.
Grade Edgenuity coursework for alternative students. (Edgenuity will be phased out during the 2025-26 school year.)
Provide encouragement, accountability, and academic support to ensure course completion.
Serve as a liaison between online learning platforms, students, families, and school staff.
Communicate with students regularly to review progress and set short‑and long‑term academic goals.
Notify families and administration when students fall behind or need additional support.
Maintain a weekly list of students who are ineligible for extracurriculars or require academic support through coordination with the attendance clerk and counselors.
Schedule tutoring sessions with staff members and communicate schedules to students and families.
Make phone calls to families regarding tutoring requirements, scheduling, and progress updates.
Track student participation and outcomes in tutoring sessions.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure tutoring targets academic areas of greatest need.
4. Intervention Support & Folder Management
Maintain intervention folders for substitutes and staff assisting with intervention groups.
Organize lesson materials provided for folders, student data, and progress tracking sheets for substitute intervention support.
Assist intervention groups during free planning periods when available.
Support consistent documentation and reporting of student progress in intervention programs.
Other Duties
Build positive, supportive relationships with students to foster a safe and respectful school environment.
Model appropriate behavior, restorative practices, and problem‑solving skills.
Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and activities.
Participate in professional development and training related to intervention, restorative practices, and online learning tools.

Evaluation Performance will be evaluated annually by the supervising administrator in accordance with district policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
Supervises the High School's athletic programs in coordination with the Principal, Superintendent and others, including recommending policies and procedures relating to the athletic programs.
Analyzes and evaluates existing athletic programs and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that they serve the best interest of the district and the students who participate, meet applicable laws and regulations, and ensure safety of participants.
Assists in the recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of all coaches.
Serves as a consultant to administration, teaching staff, coaches and students on matters pertaining to the athletic programs.
Analyzes student participation and develops procedures to ensure that the maximum number of students have the opportunity to participate in athletic activities and that the programs do not discriminate against female or minority students.
Supervises the district's athletic facilities, oversees the scheduling and coordinating of practices and athletic events, and disseminates information as needed regarding the times and places athletic events.
Supervises and coordinates the district budget and finances for all sports programs and sporting events, including inventory and control of uniforms, supplies and equipment.
Serves as the school district representative and liaison to the Southern Peaks League (SPL), CHSAA, Booster Club (when active), and other sports‑related groups as needed.
Assists in ensuring that all applicable laws and regulations relating to athletics are applied and followed, including Title IX and other federal laws and regulations, state laws and regulations, and CHSAA rules and regulations.
Coordinates the transportation schedule and provides for safe and cost‑effective transportation for off‑site athletic or sporting events.
Assists in establishing and administering a program for passes for members of the community for athletic and related events.
Coordinates the selection and compensation of sports officials/referees for on‑site events, and represents the district for the purpose of securing the highest possible quality of officiating.
Establishes criteria for awards relating to participation and demonstrating excellence in school district athletic programs, including eligibility requirements. Coordinates an end‑of‑year athletic banquet for both HS and MS athletes.
Creates materials to publicize athletic and sporting events, both in printed and electronic formats, for the purpose of disseminating information and fostering enhanced awareness among students, staff, and the community in recognizing and supporting the school's athletic programs and attending events.
Maintains professional relationship with media sources for the purpose of providing information regarding schedules, postponements or cancellations, sporting event statistics, records, and other relevant information.
Coordinates with others for the purpose of scheduling ancillary activities that occur prior to, during, and after sporting events, such as musical programs, press boxes, scorers tables, half‑time programs, police coverage, ticket sales, availability of on‑site medical care, concessions, custodial services, and other related activities.
Coordinates the taking of physical examinations of participants in athletics.
Handles all accidents and injuries in accordance with school policies, and applicable laws and regulations, including reporting and documentation requirements.
