Persons Services Corp. (PSC) is seeking a

Junior Estimator with a strong Industrial Mechanical and Plumbing background

to join our Industrial Mechanical office in Mobile, AL. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in

industrial mechanical systems, plumbing systems, process piping, HVAC, and utility infrastructure

while working alongside passionate mentors committed to your professional growth.

As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role supporting our estimating team, facilitating the bid process, and performing quantity takeoffs. You will assist in producing accurate and timely cost estimates for a variety of commercial and industrial projects, with an emphasis on

mechanical, plumbing, and piping scopes . We’re looking for an organized, high-performing individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Bid Process Management

Set up and organize bid folders on SharePoint/Teams

Establish project bids on Building Connected (or current bid solicitation platform) and issue Invitations to Bid (ITBs) to subcontractors and vendors

Execute Project Bid Setup Forms and procure all required items and information

Procure bid bonds and complete bid forms and proposals for submission by assigned deadlines

Perform scope/specification takeoffs and quantity takeoffs for various scopes of work

Create estimates in a methodical, organized manner that can be easily reviewed and interpreted by others

Conduct quantity takeoffs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all items within assigned scope

Ensure estimates are accurate and competitive

Communication & Coordination

Communicate with design professionals and/or owners prior to bid via RFIs to clarify any ambiguities or inaccuracies in bid documents

Maintain frequent communication with subcontractors and vendors to verify participation and procure a minimum of three (3) prices per scope of work

Procure, analyze, and review subcontractor and vendor pricing; communicate regarding questions or revised pricing needs

Document verbal qualifications/clarifications on quotations with date, time, and individual contacted; initial if updated written quote is not procured

Follow up on pending proposals, respond to questions/clarifications, and ensure closure on each bid/proposal submitted

Project Coordination

Collaborate with Project Management (PM) and Field Operations (FO) to develop the best approach for General Conditions (GCs) and incorporate into estimates

Work with PM and FO to successfully hand off procured/contracted projects, assist with the buy‑out process, and develop strategic plans/schedules

Review drawings, specifications, and all construction documents thoroughly

Maintain organized and up‑to‑date records of cost estimates, bids, and other relevant project

Ideal Candidate Profile

Strong background in Plumbing, HVAC, Process Piping, and Site Work/Utilities

Verified experience in multi‑discipline construction estimating and scheduling

Ability to collaborate effectively with construction managers and office staff

Experience producing resource‑loaded critical path method (CPM) schedules

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Technical Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)

Experience with industry‑standard estimating and scheduling software such as:

Procore

FastPIPE, FastDUCT, FastWRAP

Microsoft Project

Familiarity with Bluebeam and CAD software
