Sewing Technician I Position Purpose:
The Sewing Technician I position is responsible for the safe and timely execution of assigned duties requisite to satisfying customer demand in providing high‑quality beds. The dedicated individual will be required to perform several styles of sewing stitches and be comfortable operating different types of sewing machines or auxiliary machines—the ability to change working venues and tasks with minimum interruptions.
Primary Responsibilities
Efficiently complete 1‑5 sewing operations on commercial‑grade sewing equipment as per work instructions.
Set up sewing equipment for daily operation using provided instructions.
Strive to meet hourly production goals.
Knowledgeable of standardized work and work instructions.
Apply safe work practices, including wearing PPE.
Perform TPMs and light maintenance on sewing and/or auxiliary machines.
Make minor machine adjustments and change needle/tooling as needed.
Apply Practical knowledge of Quality 1,2,3 and explain the process to the manager.
Recognize quality error or nonconforming conditions and escalate appropriately.
Cooperate well with coworkers and management as a team player.
Keep the work area clean and orderly, clear of clutter and debris; apply 5S principles.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred experience in the manufacturing textile and/or sewing environment.
Able to effectively communicate using both written and verbal methods with all team members.
Compensation Salary: $17.75 per hour (includes 2nd shift differential if applicable) + annual company bonus plan.

You will collaborate with different departments including production, quality control, and inventory management, driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and innovation.
Responsibilities
Guide a team of production staff to achieve operational goals.
Create and implement production schedules to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to align production processes with business objectives.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
Identify areas for improvement and communicate ideas and implementation plans to Production Managers.
Foster a positive work environment by promoting safety, quality, teamwork, collaboration, and open communication.
Maintain knowledge of Oracle to complete tasks such as cycle counts, task assignment, and running reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
2‑3 years of similar experience in manufacturing/warehousing.
Strong understanding of production processes and equipment.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge of fundamental manufacturing and operations principles and practices.
Experience with ERP and/or Oracle.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.

Ability to guide and direct others in completion of work tasks.
Understanding of material flows in support of distribution/shipping functions.

Working Conditions
Warehouse/manufacturing environment with exposure to material handling equipment and moderate noise.
Use of protective eye equipment required.

You will also help implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Production Manager roles exist in Sewing, Air Controls Production and Order Fulfillment.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and supervise designated functional area to deliver business results.
Manage production to ensure schedules and quality standards are met.
Provide leadership in auditing, standards of work, 5S, TPM and best practices.
Hire, train, develop and coach team in personal goals, accountabilities and monitor accomplishments.
Develop and manage training, cross‑training and rotation plans for employees.
Recommend and implement process improvements for designated functional area.
Actively manage, administer and enforce plant policies and procedures.
Work with other Value Stream Managers to resolve problem situations.
Ensure efficient and profitable utilization of manpower, machinery and material.
Comply with codes of safe practices and train team to do the same.
Maintain employee attendance records.
Travel as required up to 20 % (generally not more than 10 %).
Position Requirements
At least 3 years of direct supervision of others preferred.
2 or more years’ experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of related experience, education and/or certification preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing, Fulfillment Operations and Supply Chain principles and practices.
Lean Manufacturing knowledge and/or experience preferred. Formal Lean or Six Sigma training preferred.
Travel as required up to 20 %.
Experience with fundamental manufacturing and operations principles and practices.
Problem solving and conflict resolution experience.
Effective organizing and planning skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Proven ability to lead others through change, mentor and develop employees, influence others, investigate and troubleshoot production problems, and communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
Experience with Oracle applications a plus.
