AmeriCorps, Clair-Mel City, FL, United States
New Life Village, a unique residential community for families helping to prevent children from entering or removing children from the foster care system. The Village opened its doors in 2012 and is located in Tampa, Florida – an area which is heavily impacted by both the affordable housing and foster care crises. NLV is an intergenerational community designed to support families raising foster to permanency and kinship children who have survived abuse, neglect and traumas, offering them program‑rich, below‑market housing and onsite wrap‑around services. Housing, Healing & Resilience Program New Life Village is home to children ages birth to 21 who’ve been impacted by foster care and/or trauma(s), their caregivers, and senior neighbors. NLV’s holistic program is designed to cultivate daily connections and promote healing and ensures that each child has a family that is supportive and supported. Our program allows children to realize safety, housing stability, permanency, healing and the ability to thrive within a trauma informed community. Our Program also offers evidence‑based interventions to support emotional well‑being, self‑sufficiency, and economic mobility.
