Location: Huntsville, AL (1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805, USA) Seasonal Part‑time, $16.00 an hour. Paid time off. Free museum passes and discounts. Overview The purpose of this position is to provide prompt, thorough photographic services to Space Camp attendees, documenting the day‑to‑day camp experience, and to provide a comprehensive picture package to trainees and their parents. Space Camp photographers will be engaged in a variety of photographic assignments including action, candid, natural and artificial light photography, portraiture, among others. Responsibilities Photograph camp attendees to document their authentic camp experience both indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions. Follow photography assignments provided by camp photography leadership thoroughly and with an eye for detail and organization. Determine correct settings for equipment in manual camera mode. Operate and maintain equipment such as cameras, flashes, lenses, and any other auxiliary equipment designated to complete photo tasks. Clean and maintain camera equipment. Other duties as assigned. Travel Required: No Level of Supervision: None Qualifications Required Education: High school or G.E.D. Required Experience: 6–12 months experience in a photography environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience & Technical Skills: Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment, detail‑oriented, well‑organized, professional, and able to work with minimal supervision. Excellent customer service skills. Working knowledge of digital camera systems (Sony mirrorless preferred), various lenses, and lighting equipment. Must understand fundamentals of manual camera settings for action, low‑light, full sun, and maintain proper exposure. Physical Requirements Walking and climbing stairs to access other departments and buildings. Standing for long periods (4–6 hours). Carrying and lifting supplies and boxes up to 25 pounds to waist height. Bending, kneeling, reaching to store & retrieve supplies. Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to operate computer terminal, handle documents and sort mail. Talking and hearing to communicate with supervisor(s), employees, guests, and trainees who interact with assigned area of responsibility. Eligibility Must be authorized to work in the United States. Hours of Work First Shifts: Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:00 pm. Second Shifts: Monday–Friday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm. Weekend: Friday–Saturday 7:00 am–10:00 pm. Evening and weekend availability is preferred.
