
Business Development Manager - Trade Show

Gilbert is a full-service millwork manufacturing company specializing in the design, fabrication, and execution of trade show exhibits, architectural interiors, and live brand activations. With in-house capabilities spanning design, build, logistics, installation/dismantle, and warehousing, we deliver end-to-end solutions for our B2B clients.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven background in trade show exhibit sales to drive new business growth. This role is a pure hunter position focused on identifying, pursuing, and closing new clients within the trade show and events space.
Key Responsibilities Proactively identify and target companies actively exhibiting at trade shows and industry events
Develop and execute strategies to win new business, including taking share from competitors and expanding into new verticals
Build and manage a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement
Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract negotiation and close
Attend trade shows and events to generate leads, build relationships, and convert opportunities in real time
Conduct consultative sales discussions to understand client objectives and position Gilbert’s full-service capabilities
Collaborate with internal design, estimating, and production teams during the sales process
Ensure a smooth transition of new clients to internal account management and project teams post-sale
Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking within CRM systems
Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of direct trade show exhibit sales experience (custom exhibits, experiential marketing, or event services required)
Proven track record of generating net-new business and closing high-value deals
Strong understanding of the trade show lifecycle, including design, fabrication, logistics, and installation/dismantle
Established network within industries that frequently participate in trade shows is preferred
Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, and win business in a competitive environment
Strong negotiation, communication, and consultative selling skills
Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar
Willingness to travel regularly to trade shows and client meetings
